The COVID-19 pandemic highlights the need to apply mathematical research methods in order to empower our decision-makers in making timely responses when dealing with such health risks. The Decision Support System (DSS) for Health is created to provide predictions, risk management information, preemptive measures, and surveillance methods that are driven from patterns and correlations of health-related data at different levels. Given the current pool of experts in Mindanao and the established linkages of UP Mindanao with the LGUs and local public health officials, Niche Center in the Region for R & D-University of the Philippines Mindanao (NICER-UPMin) was created to offer DSS for health in the Mindanao region.
