The UPRI - Mindanao Center for Disease Watch and Analytics (DiWA) will address the NEED to achieve a health-resilient Philippines.

OUR MISSION

The UPRI - Mindanao Center for Disease Watch and Analytics (DiWA) is envisioned to be a leading research center providing a transdisciplinary-based decision support system for health issues relevant in the Philippines and by 2030 in the Southeast Asian region.

OUR VISION

The UPRI - Mindanao Center for Disease Watch and Analytics (DiWA) shall be in one with the Department of Science and Technology, Department of Health, and other allied agencies in achieving a health-resilient Philippines.

HOW WE STARTED

The center began with a simple dream: to improve the country's health system by blending research and technology. The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted our purpose and  social media brought it to light. As we shared our findings online, government agencies took notice, and the rest is history. One thing for sure, this center is driven from the NEED to bring a research-driven decision support system that will aid public officials and health workers in creating a more resilient public health system.

"Our center stands at the forefront among the Philippines' pioneering solutions to address the unique health challenges in the country. Through cutting-edge research, mentorship programs, and strategic collaborations with key agencies, we aim not only to inform decision-makers but also to nurture the next generation of health leaders.

As the Director of DiWA, I am proud to lead a team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about making a meaningful impact on public health.
