The leading research center that addresses the need to achieve a health-resilient Philippines
Sustainable Health Solutions Through Data Analytics, One Data at a Time
The Mindanao Center for Disease Watch & Analytics, also known as the DiWA Center, is the first health resiliency research hub of the University of the Philippines Resilience Institute. It focuses on providing data-driven solutions to support public health governance, such as virtual planning applications for disease management.
The center's work focuses on the computational needs of healthcare offices and the development of dashboards, surveillance systems, and diagnostic kits that are relevant to public health decision-making processes. Currently, the DiWA Center is located in the College of Science and Mathematics of the University of the Philippines Mindanao campus, where it serves as a crucial hub for innovation.
In advancing its mission of a health-resilient country through research, the DiWA Center is anchored on four pillars revolved around knowledge: (1) knowledge generation, (2) knowledge transfer & sharing, (3) knowledge services, and (4) knowledge application.
