2023 Best Health Research Mentor Awardee (Mindanao Cluster)

Center Director, Dr. May Anne E. Mata, has been honored with the prestigious Best Health Research Mentor Award (Graduate Category) at the 2023 Mindanao Cluster Health Research Award. This recognition is presented every two years by the Department of Science and Technology - Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) to celebrate the invaluable contributions of mentors in the field of health research. This achievement is a testament to her exceptional mentorship and dedication to fostering research excellence.

As previously mentioned in this article, Dr. Mata served as Mr. Zython Paul Lachica's Research Placement Co-adviser during his dissertation titled, "Profiling Disease Burden, Impact of Control Interventions, and the Epidemiological Dynamics Of COVID-19 in Mindanao, Philippines from March 2020 to June 2022: A Multi-Model Approach". Their collaborative efforts contributed significantly to the advancement of knowledge in the field of global health.
