Harmonized Health Awardee
DiWA, previously known as AMDABiDSS-Health, and UP Mindanao have been honored with recognition from the Department of Health - Center for Health Development Region XI (DOH-CHD Region XI) at the prestigious 2023 Annual Regional Harmonized Health Award ceremony held at the Apo View Hotel in Davao City. The center was commended for its invaluable contributions as Epidemiology and Surveillance Partners, further solidifying its commitment to promoting public health initiatives in the region.
The awarding ceremony was graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Lyre Espada-Murao, Chancellor of UP Mindanao, alongside key figures such as Dr. Gern Logrosa, Project Leader for AMDABiDSS-Health's Project 2 (RESILIEMC), and Mr. Zython Paul Lachica, MSc, the Project Officer for DiWA. Their attendance underscored the significance of the recognition and highlighted the collaborative efforts between DiWA, UP Mindanao, and the Department of Health in advancing health surveillance and epidemiological research.
Since 2022, DOH-CHD Region XI has been a pivotal partner in supporting the initiatives of DiWA and UP Mindanao. Their collaboration has facilitated the implementation of various projects aimed at enhancing health surveillance capabilities, addressing public health challenges, and promoting community well-being across the region.
