28th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting

Dr. May Anne Mata, our esteemed center director, was recently invited to speak at the 28th Annual Convention and Scientific Meeting in Koronadal City, South Cotabato. Hosted by the Philippine Society for Microbiology, Inc - Mindanao Chapter, this event marked the 2nd on-site Convention and Scientific Meeting organized post-COVID-19 pandemic, signifying a significant step towards normalcy in academic gatherings.


The Philippine Society for Microbiology-Mindanao Chapter, founded on May 17, 1995, has grown from its modest origins into a robust community of professionals and aspiring microbiologists. Now in its 28th year, the organization continues to fulfill its mission of promoting and advancing the field of microbiology in the Philippines, fostering a vibrant community dedicated to enhancing our understanding of this vital discipline.

At this year's convention, held on November 23-24 in Koronadal City, over 300 participants gathered to celebrate their shared passion for microbiology. The event served as a platform for knowledge exchange, collaboration, and networking among professionals and enthusiasts alike.
